Hey Everyone! I
am honored and excited to announce that I have been selected as a member of
Atlanta's ONE Group by the JDRF Georgia Chapter. The ONE group is a small group
of professionals who were selected based on philanthropic accomplishments and
commitment to making a difference in the community. I will be honored, along
with the other 20 members, at The ONE Party on November 12th at the Stave Room
at American Spirit Works. It will be a night of drinks, dinner, dancing, and
FUN!
Thank you all so
much for your generous donations to the ADA and the Tour de Cure last fall. It
was an amazing and emotional accomplishment as I crossed the finish line with my husband, Austin
and my brother, David. In recognition of the one year mark since my diagnosis and as part
of the ONE group, our family has decided to make another donation to the JDRF. Joining us at the ONE party is one way to donate (click on the link above to purchase tickets) but we are thrilled to tell our friends and family about "Tuning Bikes for Type One."
In keeping with the cycling theme, the
Bristow family is excited to announce the first ever “Tuning Bikes for Type One” fundraiser at The Brookwood Hills Park on October 3rd. As a former bike mechanic and passionate cyclist,
Austin and other cyclist friends will be tuning bikes- mountain bikes, road bikes, cruisers, and trikes, to
raise money for the JDRF. We welcome donations of any size; the value of the tune-up ranges from $10-$50, depending on the type of bike and service provided. Please email austincbristow@gmail.com or sarahpbristow@gmail.com for
more information or to make an appointment in advance. Pick up and drop off
service available to Brookwood Hills residents but this event is open to everyone Please
spread the word! We will be there from 11-4, but will stay as long as there are bikes to be tuned!
There will also be a Lemonade Stand and bake sale hosted by neighborhood resident, Grace Richardson. Grace and her Second Grade friends will donate 100% of their proceeds to the JDRF as well.
We need your help! We hope you can bring your bike to the park for a tune-up and some fresh baked cookies, or that you join us
at American Spirit Works…both events are sure to be fun and are raising much needed funding for a great cause. Thank you so much for your support!
